ESA Claim - two weeks now not heard anything?

Postby paulfoel » Fri Feb 03, 2017 2:38 pm

Sent form off to local jobcentre as the web site suggests. That was over two weeks ago.

Is there any way to check its being looked at?

If you contact your local job centre they should be able to guide you in the right direction.

Did you send the forms off by record or special delivery?

Its always wise for everyone to have proof of postage to prevent any claims of being told by DWP they do not have it/ forms not come in on time etc...

I think a fresh new ESA claim always takes time. If its a renewal it wont be as long and you should hear soon but if its a new claim it could take longer depending where you live. If its a fresh new claim then you should be providing a doctors note to sign you off seeking for work as unfit and be entitled to the assessment phase which is around £50 a week until DWP decide if eligable for ESA and what group your in. Moneys be back dated once this has been sorted.
