Surgery with Fibromyalgia

Postby Spindrift » Mon May 15, 2017 12:26 pm

Hi. Can anyone point me in the direction of any British guidelines about how to manage an FM patient during an operation? Thank you.

:welcome:

No guidlines that I know of and Iv had an operation. I made sure the anesthetist was full aware of the Fibromyalgia and other health conditions and he made sure I had medications to relax the muscles and gave me extra pain relief.

I would also make sure the consultant puts Fibro down on your notes for pain control afterwards.

Interesting reading.
Looking forward even less now too my coccygectomy. I was told it can be more painful than some major operations with a longer recovery time. :yikes: :yikes: :teddy-bear:
