Accomplishment of the day

Postby rich44 » Sun Aug 17, 2014 8:51 pm

Just gave the wife her first driving lesson in 10 years. She was learning before the kids came along but I was driving (luckily) round Norwich and 2 motorcyclists did something really stupid on a roundabout and one of them wrote our car off.

Luckily was rush hour and everyone stopped as witnesses and when the police arrived they all stood up and said the motorcycles were in the wrong lane, chopping in/out and tried to turn left from right hand lane on roundabout.

Turned out he also had an illegal tyre and he was prosecuted so that helped.

Anyway scared her off lessons then poor woman. So fast forward to today the cars a semi-auto so no gears let her drive round the car park which she liked. Then went to get chips and she asked to drive home the last 6 miles!

This is on an unmarked C Road with 60 limit with blind s bends and is quite busy with tourists at the moment.

She did the whole thing, kept the car left passed cars coming towards us at break neck speed, her speed was reasonable and it's the first time she's done any in a decade.

I'm really proud. Plus will make my life easier too lol.

Yay, thanks it's nice to have something to smile about, bless she's so chuffed with herself.

Her mum's got money stashed for proper lessons so between me and an instructor she should be set.

It'll take the pressure off me too.
