Wife has FM and isn't working - tax question?

Postby ElliotW » Thu May 03, 2018 4:57 pm

Hello, hope everyone is well :-)

My wife has had FM and EBS for the last 10 years or so, however in the last few years she's struggled with it a lot more, so I've decided to join in search for information. She has chosen to leave work (hopefully only this year) because it's been flaring up much more often in the last few years, and she believes the stress of her job isn't helping (teacher). Because she will be out of work for the next year, I was wondering if I would be able to take what's left of her personal allowance amount and put it on my income with the married allowance thing? I haven't been able to figure it out myself, and there isn't any option like that on this income tax calculator. I was wondering if any married couples here use the married allowance and could help me out with some information about applying for it and the like? It'd be much appreciated! :-D

Cheers
Elliot
