I think they run side by side, but also one makes the other worse. I been through very stressful time the last four years (mum died, within weeks husband diagnosed with terminal cancer, ten months later he died) then on top of that I put myself through the misery of selling my house to move nearer my daughter as I was now completely alone. During the house selling nightmare (very long story there) I came close to nervous breakdown. Anyway to cut a long story short, now two years after finally getting into my new property and feeling settled every symptom of my FM has flared up, I now have to rest every afternoon and go to bed at 9pm just to cope. I have found a lovely church nearby and now have two baby granddaughters and the depression is lifting and am getting the FM under control. I do know for sure that if you feel 'happy' then the symptoms seem to ease. X
