Neurology Appointment

Postby LindyM66 » Sat May 06, 2017 8:07 pm

Had my neurology appointment this afternoon. Was seen by the loveliest consultant Ive ever met. Done various tests on my reflexes, checked my eyes, my walking, etc etc
He said that my nerves seem to be working, but not as well as they should be, theredore, something is interrupting " the message" somewhere. He has requested a full body MRI to see head and spinal column, and referred me for psychological testing.
He also questioned why I had never been referred for a scan before, and why I was on a "smidgen" of gabapentin. I take 300mgs x 3 daily.
He's writing to GP to tell him to increase it and wants to see me in 2 months.

Thank the lord the ball is rolling in the right direction at last.

Much Love

Hi Dotty

Yes, fingers crossed things move swiftly ( hardy har har).
Also had an appointment with occupational health - the Dr there was very nice too! She was surprised how I have managed to continue working whilst " all this" has been going on.
Long story short, she has written a very robust report to my HR dept, explaining what investigations are being done and what present situation is etc etc, and that I am not fit for work in any capacity meantime. I will be off for at least 8 weeks - hopefully the investigations will have been done, and treatment plan identified.
We use an idependent OH advisor.

See how it goes :-)

Lets hope all will be worked out before your return to work! :fingerscrossed:

Its good to hear your saw a nice consultant and getting some tests done.

Try and get some rest and not try to worry! I know what its like when your in limbo land and awaiting tests  but then I have no patients what so ever!!

Hi Lisa

It's difficult to be patient at times, when your body is so sore. You get scunnered. I'm not worrying about work in the slightest. OH Dr says she won't be recommending my return until the test results are available, and neueologist has a trearment plan. Even then, it could take a while to settle down.
I am going to relax and enjoy the break.
Hope ur doing ok
