Working for a cure – sooner rather than later

Working for a cure – sooner rather than later

Do you want a cure for Fibromyalgia? We do. If you feel as strongly as we do that research is urgently needed to find a cause and a cure, then please join us.

We are The Fibroduck Foundation, the brainchild of Fibroduck and the Rambling Duck. We exist for one purpose: to raise funds for UK-based biomedical research into Fibromyalgia syndrome.

We also believe that research progresses faster when scientists and patients collaborate, so we aim to provide an environment in which this can happen.

By very visibly raising money and supporting scientists, we hope to kick start a whole programme of research in this country.
But, we can’t do this alone. We need the patient community to mobilise behind this effort. We need patient power.

We believe the days of waiting for Government to take the lead are over. For those who think that the MRC or the NHS ought to be leading on this, reflect for a moment on their track record to date. While those who guard the money twiddle their thumbs, our lives are ticking away. If we can’t encourage Government to fund Fibromyalgia research, we’ll have to lead the way ourselves.
We need to raise £26,000 for our first research project. You can read about it here:
http://www.fibroduckfoundation.com/page15.html

It’s your future – come and help us!
There are loads of simple and effective ideas for fund raising:
Hold a fundraising event on our behalf. It doesn’t matter how simple it is – leading charities have raised thousands of pounds through volunteers running coffee mornings. Other charities run everything from jumble sales to auctions and black-tie events. Your event can be whatever you choose, but please tell us what you’re planning. We’d love to help you promote it: enquiries@fibroduckfoundation.com

If you use Vegepa or Omega supplements, sign up for our Supplements for Fibromyalgia scheme and enjoy exclusive discounts as well as raising money with every order. Every bottle of Vegepa, Vegepa Chewables, Omega Flex, Omega Force, Echiomega you buy earns us a donation, at no cost to you. To register, simply email supplementsscheme@fibroduckfoundation.com and say you want to register for the supplements scheme.

The Fibroduck Foundation is a member of the Easy Fundraising scheme. When you go to online retailers via our page, we will automatically get a percentage of the value of your shopping. To join in, you need to register first (and get everyone you know to register, too). There are thousands of online retailers participating in this scheme, so if you are shopping online, check it out!

Sign up (and get everyone you know to sign up) for Easy Search and spend ten minutes (or more) a day completing simple web searches via their search engine. Every search you complete makes us 0.05p – not much, but added up over the year with everybody participating this could raise a tidy sum.

Those are just a few of the ways you can help us reach our target and make UK research a reality. Follow this link for more ways to get involved, many of which will cost you nothing but all will result in a donation to fibro research:

We are absolutely serious about launching biomedical research into Fibromyalgia in this country.
Come and join us.

We'd also like to thank UK Fibromyalgia for their support :-)

Is Fibroduck registered on anything like Easy Fundraising http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/ or Everyclick http://www.everyclick.com/ or other similar sites???

For peeps who find they cannot make donations due to tight financial matters but would like to do something to help, using such sites when they need to search t'interweb could also help add a little more to the research pot :-? :-? :-?
