Hi Everyone,
Newbie me, I've been living with this hellish thing that's changed every part of my normal life for 5/6 years after swine flu, viral infection and my thyroid went haywire? Also I've had 2 discs prolapses.
I'm now living with burning skin, spikes in my joints, ribs get hundreds hard unbelievable painful small5 lumps that tend to start with a itch. My now hypersensitive to msg dairy gelatine soya soy etc but worst fluorescent, Led lighting loud noises and sweating?? Brain fog is a big worry coz my mum has dementia, I used to be a salesperson now struggle with a sentence?
How my beautiful wife puts up with me is head scratching.
I take nearly 100 pills a week....really don't think they do Jack S..t apart from putting weight on. Lidocaine plasters are helpful just wish I could levitate coz my soles of my feet hurt big-time.
Hope I can learn some tried and tested knowledge to help me with this fm.
Whinge over.... Hello all xx

Hi to you too, Shaker~ing~steve xx

Feel free to whinge away, you're in good company on here xx We understand what you're going thru and how it can make you think and feel about everything around you xx

I've been dealing with a flare~up since Easter and I've often wondered how and why my OH deals with it xx I've even asked him and his answer is always the same..... Because it's me and because we're in this together xx If you were to ask Mrs Shaker~ing~Steve I'm pretty sure she would give you a very similar answer xx

The symptoms and problems you've described are ones that most of us share xx If you use the search function it should bring up all kinds of topics relating to your search from the deepest, darkest depths of the forum, where the dust bunnies reside xx These days the forum is very quiet on the activity front, but there is so much info across the boards, so have a bit of a look and a read, there maybe something helpful in amongst it all that helps make a bit of a difference to you xx

Hi Steve welcome to the forum

Does your GP see these as isolated symptoms or illnesses, or is there a common cause or precursor?

Hi Fluffypuppy and Perseus thanks for your replies I appreciate.
You asked if my symptoms are isolated or illnesses, these all happened over the space of maybe 4 years? Whatever is happening to me started with a unbelievable sore throat and my thyroid & goiter would swell. I had 2 camera's down my throat (my throat is still sore and red 6 years on) but nothing were found? I were Very fatigued and felt like I had very bad flu.? Specialist thought then I had graves disease or hyperthyroidism?
Then I were getting a chronic pain on the rhs of my groin & balls, I had it for couple of months then it moved upwards to my rhs lower belly? I had a camera up my willy because 1 doctor thought It was cancer.
It took quite a while to suss out that I had become very sensitive to light, I would go where there were fluorescent lights straight after I would be took to the hospital. I nearly had a heart attack at a immunology appointment because of low flurescents lights.
All the specialist were scratching their head but most thought it were CFS maybe Fm. I've had so many different things happen to me since having swine flu, viral infection and my thyroid went haywire, like lumbar puncture, brain scan and nerve testing.
As ive stated the worse thing now is terribly sore skin/under my skin and being hypersensitive to so many things which still causes terrible pain in my veins spikes mainly on my rhs flank?
Sorry it's long winded reply but so much has happened.

Perseus.. Are you saying it doesn't sound like Fm? I look forward to your reply.

Kind regards for your time and help
Stephen

As you say you have had so many illnesses it must be difficult to determine what the pain can be down to. Usually fibromyalgia requires ruling out well known causes of chronic pain, check out the list of mistaken conditions. Certain conditions - you mention thyroid - can also exacerbate fibromyalgia. I suggest you have a good read of the definitions and diagnosis. Have you seen a rheumatologist?

Thanks for your quick reply Perseus I appreciate, I've had lots of possible illnesses/diseases ruled out like MS, cancer thyroid problems which has gone to normal levels.
I've seen a rheumatologist so they are thinking it's FM. I did see a ME specialist would did say I've got Me possible fm but I carried on seeing different specialist because my symptoms are so severe.
I'm now violently sensitive to msg and lesser to soy soya gelatin, wheat and dairy, loud noises lights but not incandescent lighting?? Which can all cause days of pain
