5 things I can't live without

Postby Gingermama » Thu Jan 15, 2015 2:54 am

So after a 5 hour sleep I'm now wide awake at 1.45am so thought I'd Make a fun post

I'm gonna list 5 things I can't live without as an FIbro fighter and would love u guys to do the same! Maybe we can get ideas from each other?

1. My iPad, keeps me sane when I'm awake at stupid o'clock, I use it to keep in touch with the world on FAcebook, research stuff and just to look at pretty things (I have a major shoes and clothes habit lol!)
2. My Slankie, sleeved blanket, it's a recent purchase and OMG I love it! Keeps me warm and snug and is so soft
3. My magnesium supplements, even tho I haven't been on them long I know when I've missed one. They seem to be helping more than the meds...
4. My Vicks inhalator, my sinuses are awful!
5. My family. I have an amazingly supportive husband and, although my 2 small boys wear me out, a giggle with them is def the best medicine.

Great idea!

1. My wonderful husband, who is my rock and I just don't know what I'd do without him....and my gorgeous teenage son of whom I am so proud and who never fails to make me laugh.

2. My faithful chocolate Labrador who is my constant companion, never judges, and is always pleased to hang out with me!

3. My laptop, which is my link to the outside world and my way of staying in touch with far-flung cousins and friends.

4. My Kindle. I love reading, and it is so much easier for me to read from a Kindle than a book.

5. My very dear friends who have stuck by me over the years, and who accept me for who I am and still want to spend time with me.

Gosh, I think I've a very lucky lady! :-D

Five things I could not live without
1. My bed. This is my safe place.
2. My little staffy Tess. She 14 now and deaf but she is my little shadow.
3. CHOCOLATE! You can never have too much chocolate.
4. My girls, 19, 15 and 5. All try to help me and are always there for me. It's heartbreaking for me not to be able to cuddle them more. It just hurts so much most times.
5. My ipad. It helps to keep me in touch with friends and family. Due to my weak, painful wrists I am unable to use a computer with a mouse.
Never judge on looks alone. Real beauty comes from with in.

What a fantastic post
Positivity is what u need at this time of the morning
When ur in pain and can't sleep

My partner - although not when he's snoring
My iPhone
Sky tv - need to get only fools and horses on in the middle of the night!
My 2 dogs - it can be a challenge but the walks and fresh air help so much
My family - feel so loved in their company

Having a terrible time through the nights just now so coming on here and
Thinking about the good things in life really does help !

1. My family
2. My Amitriptyline as I cannot sleep without it!
3. My ipad which I use for internet surfing, games & Facebook. The games help me in rest periods :-)
4. My health even though I have fibro & arthritis, it could be so much worse.
5. My mum & dad following me to the UK especially now my dad has terminal cancer, I can be nearby x
I am a fibro fighter not a fibro sufferer. I will keep fighting from the minute I get up til the minute I go to bed.

My five things;

The air that I breath
The sun on my face
The wind in my hair
The rain on my lashes
The snowflakes on my tongue

This is the first time I've posted here. I couldn't resist as it put a smile :) on my face which is difficult to do at 3 am. My 5 things I couldn't life without are:
1. Hubby and daughters, my reason for staying strong.
2. My cuddly wee dog who snuggles on my knee in the wee small hours.
3. Netflix, prison break, fringe, daft films and a whole lot more helps put the hours in until exhaustion appears and my bed beckons.
4. My kindle fire, seems to be my only social life now and the only way I can read because I can't hold a book anymore.
5. My 5 wheat pillows, they get zapped in the microwave and help ease my tummy and joint pains.

Hi Lizbeth!

Now onto the five things...
Gingermama wrote: list 5 things I can't live without as an FIbro fighter and would love u guys to do the same! Maybe we can get ideas from each other?

it's the "as a fibro fighter" that throws me off... generally a flushing toilet is my number one, chocolate after that, and hubby somewhere on the list. But five things as a fibro fighter... hmmmm....

1: TV/internet. To me they're just about the same - entertainment! When insomnia keeps you up at stupid-o'clock, and you feel so rubbish that all you do is sit like a vegetable on the sofa, the telly and my laptop has kept me sane(-ish!).

2: Home deliveries! With hubby away a lot of the time, I would't have been able to cope unless I got my groceries delivered. Shops are only half an hours walk away, but I wouldn't have made it to the shops, let alone been able to carry groceries home.

3: Sense of humour. And this counts for both me and hubby. The plan was always for us to grow old together and poke fun of eachother as our bodies and minds were falling apart... it just happened a lot sooner than anticipated!

4: Dustpan and brush. Alright, alright... clearly I could live without it, but with a house full of pets, I can assure you things would be pretty bad just within a few days. On my bad days I couldn't use the hoover. Just holding the nozzle and pulling the thing was too much. Instead I sat on the floor sweeping, shuffeling along on my butt as I went along.

5: Determination. I was determind to find something that made me better!

I love Queenies such simple things but so true.

Here's Mine:
1) Waterproof Mascara... Yes still want to look semi glam on my scooter. (who am I kidding lol)
2) My Alsatian... She loves me whatever I look like.
3) You Guys.... Cause I know I'm not alone
4) My one loyal friend.... Who has been with me through both the good and the bad. The rest are posted missing.
5) Last but certainly not least... My Beautiful Daughter.
