Sensory Neural hearing loss

Postby keaedmondson » Thu Oct 08, 2015 7:40 pm

Hello,
In August I woke up one morning and had lost a lot of hearing in my left ear. After getting nowhere with eardrops and my GP and antibiotics, I was referred to ENT. I saw them last week and was given steroids thinking it was viral.

I went back today for review, and saw a different doctor, much more experienced! He said that it is very likely to be linked to my FM. I have looked on the Internet but can find very little evidence for this. Has anyone heard of such a thing? The steroids have improved things but he says he doesn't know whether I will get my hearing all back or whether it may stay as it is ordeteriorate.

I don't want this to be yet another linked condition with FM if it isn't… If it gives them an excuse not to do anything to help me…
