Throat Pouch ?

Postby Knackered » Mon Jun 25, 2018 8:06 pm

Hello,
Has anyone with FM had problems with a throat pouch.
The symptoms are usualy difficulty with swallow.
It can also cause a clicking sound in the throat.
People with it usualy give a regular but rather polite cough,, in an attempt to clear the throat, but may not even be aware of the fact that they do this on a regular basis.
Often food will get stuck in the throat,, and it is possible to bring it back up, but this it's self dose not necessarly mean that you have a pouch.
Diagnosing the condition normaly takes a Barrium Swallow Test for it to show up,,, a endoscopy (camera down the throat) will not usualy show this condition well unless they are paticularly looking for it.
If you have had this condition please say,, this is a rare condition affecting perhaps as many a 1 in 10,000 prople but I do suspect that this may be quite a common ocurance in FM it would be nice if this could be proven,, or at least confirmed.
