Thanks Denys

Forgot to ask about my tongue - but have to go back next week for a filling and clean (great)! burst into tears as soon as I got into the chair ...

Felt a right plonker 37 year old woman crying can't help it I hate the denist soo much get so scared!! Asked for an injection for when he cleans them! What a baby

Still have a numb tongue today and joy of joy I can't stop going to the toilet (no infection) just an incredible urge to go all the time - even had to get up last night.....!

Hello, I'm a newbi here and I've just been told after several years of pain and lots of tests that I have fibro. One of the things I've noticed for about 6 months now, is that I've got oral thrush. I am finding it difficult to get rid of, dispite the thrush medication, so I decided to look it up and see if their could be others with the same problem and it seems that their is. Sue

candida if you really do have it is a merely a yeast overgrowth . It is not going to make you critically ill and if you do have it the presribed treatments will work well if used correctly and for long enough.

to distract from the issues of feeling like you cannot enjoy yur life maybe a new hobby, drinking lots of water to ensure a healthy mouth and well hydrated etc [ this will also assist your non infectin bladder symptoms by your urine not being so strong ] some chewing gum which will assist with saliva production and a healthy non processed foods [ no sugar, junk food, pastry pies, sweets chocolate etc etc] diet along with some fresh air with friends and family as often as possible every day but for a min of 1/2 hr should be enough to have you loving a healthy life.

This may or may not be to do with this condition as it seems anything can be on here but def not in the official info on the lists given by my specialists!

Happy smiling ! S

sore tongue/thrush

Postby MsBabylove11 » Mon Jul 30, 2012 12:07 pm

I have had a bout of having a very sore tongue about 6 months ago and I examined it to find that I had fissures/ splits in the middle tip of my tongue! Never had them before and have worked as a dental nurse before I was sick for 16+years so I know it wasn't candida?! Then it just suddenly went away? Yet another of the fibros baffling ailments I guess or possibly down to the fentanyl patch that I no longer use as those things that I thought were helping me really didn't! Best med I've been on so far is pregabbalin but now at max dose of 300ml twice daily! Told my doc they seem less effective now but she says to stay with it? Anyone else use something similar but different med?

Thanks x jo

Hi Sue :welcome: to the forum

I dont get thrush but do get sore throats quite often, i also get a sore tongue.

Does your Gp put you on antibiotics for it? as they are known to trigger thrush. You should go back to your Gp and ask for something else to help clear it up. :goodluck1: hope you get something that helps :hugs:

I hardly imagine how would you feel when suffering oral thrush for over 3 years!!
I had it 1 week and it was like hell to me!
However, I googled it and found some simple tips ( Oral thrush home remedies )
They recommend gargling warm salt water everyday, or using garlic, cinnamon,..
I only apply tips number 1, 5, and sometimes change to no. 6, but the improvement started to come!
SO I wanna share it to you :) Hope you'd get better soon!
