I won

Postby libby63 » Sun Feb 05, 2012 9:10 pm

Hi all just to let you know I won my DLA Tribunal on Thursday. Its been a long old slog took me just under 18mths to get to this point but, I managed to get through it. I got higher rate mobility and lower rate care for an indefinite period lol I know that does not mean much with PIP coming into place soon but, I will be one of the last to be assessed under that.

I was awarded the Higher rate mobility before I even entered the room for the Tribunal. When I walked in they said we have already made a decision on your mobility and have awarded you higher rate so we do not need to discuss this. I hope with more of us taking it all the way our disability will start to get the recognition it needs.

PIP is what the government are changing DLA to. It is called Personal Independence Payment and will be graded like DLA is the only difference is that you have to have a medical assessment to get it. Lets hope they don't use ATOS but, it is looking increasingly like it.

War Hero I was in there less than 20 minutes because they had already made up their mind on the mobility aspect of it before I went in. All they wanted to know was which rate of care they needed to award me.

I am in Berkshire and was waiting for my tribunal for a year.
