WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!

Postby jmhg69 » Mon Feb 13, 2012 2:33 pm

Good news and hopefully some hope for everyone!!!!!!!!

I have today been awarded HRM and HRC for 2 years without the need to appeal or ask for reconsideration!!!!!!

I actually can't believe it I think I am still in shock! I phoned up this morning to see where they were up to and to inform them that I have now been put through for an electric wheelchair the lady on the phone couldn't tell me the details but said a decision had been made and was in the post but I should be happy as it was favourable. I was just a little gobsmacked to say the least! I then realised that instead of dreading the brown envelope I was looking forward to it! Anyway lol the letter arrived about 30 mins later and I think I am now in shock lol

Fingers crossed this will give hope to everyone as it seems the system has for once worked as it should without having to be forced to do so!

Godd luck to all those still in the process take care coz we care

So good to hear some good news. Well done xxx

Abbrieviations are for Disability Living Allowance awards (DLA) awards.

LRC = low rate care, MRC = middle rate care and HLC = High rate care.

MRM = middle rate Moblity and HRM = higher rate mobility

Hope that helps xx

Hi

Afternoon update lol shock still remains and in some ways has increased since this morning!

I phoned the benefits advisory officer the council sent round and told her I had got the award coz I now need to pay a contribution to my care and she told me to phone income support as I was now entitled to severe disability allowance. So I did and the woman there tells me I am now entitled to almost another £70 a week which will also be backdated to the date of my DLA award which means basically I am getting over £2K in back money!!!!!

Keep fighting everyone its worth it in the end despite the stress!

Take care coz we care

Hi Julia

Thats great news for you. I had the dreaded brown envelope drop on the mat this morning. Last year I successfully received HRM but only until June 2012 as I already had LRC which would run out in June 2012. I've now got to fill this form all over again although I suppose I can copy what I put last year as nothing has changed.
It seems to be a never ending go of filling out these forms, at least I dont have ro worry about ESA as I was put in the support group last year.

I'm very pleased for you and for everyone else who has managed to receive this much needed benefit.

Dear Aillen

I'm not sure what you mean about not having to worry as you are in the 'support group' for ESA. I really don't understand the difference and as I have only just been awarded ESA in the support group I am so scared they're gona make me go back to work. Something which i would dearly love to do but just know isn't an option at the minute. I have RA and Fibro and the depression that has haunted me all my life is at its worse ever. I've recently been self harming which is something I havent done for over 20 years! Not in a good place trying to come to terms with fibro diagnosis and the effect its having on my life. Having to worry about benefits just adds to the misery.

There is so much talk of people having their money stopped or having to go back to work. My friend has Fibro and has just been taken off ESA and told she now has to claim jobseekers.

Sorry, didnt mean to moan like that!

being placed into the support group means you are not expected to look for work any time soon, so there is no need to worry about them making you get a job :-)

Only the Care Component has a Middle Rate, the Mobility Components are LRM - Low Rate Mobility and HRM = High Rate Mobility.

Hi I'm really please to hear so many good outcomes

I've been on hrm for 2 years gone October 2011 I got a renewed form throught the post in about July 2011 time and filled it in under the understanding I just had to fill what was new in as they already new why was the matter with me. I got a reply in August 2011 saying I wasn't entitled to hrm and my claim would end on the exact 2 years date October 2011. I am now appealing the decision as I honestly filled the form in wrong with thinking I only had to tell them what was new as a disability doesn't just go like that if you getting hrm.

I got diagnosed with fm about 6 months ago but has a lot of problems since I was about 14 from what I can remember I'm 30 this year. The doctors have always blamed it on things like age, growling pains and weight. After years of trying to lose weight and 3 kids later I dropped 4 stone and got extremely worse that doctors had to check me out this was only 3 and half year ago. So I've benn fighting for a long time. I've had MRI scan ct scan ecg's and got a disc nipping a neve and a disc deteriating. I've had physio once that crippled me never felt like that in my life talk about scarred got stuck on the bed and couldn't get off, eventually got to vicar for mt mother to have to lift my legs up into car and was like that for couple of days.

I'm not really getting anywhere still with the doctors apart from got an appointment to see a knee specialist in April as they never done anything about them befor so that one good thing. Hopefully they will find out what's up.

I have my appeal date thriught for April too and really s******* myself I'm do scared and so alone doing this. I have a lady from disability department at council helping me but I've only seen her one to open this appeal, she doesn't really know anything about me.

Does this sound anything like a problem you have had, if so I'd like to hear. If you wanna ask anything else please do so as I've proberly missed out loads.

Thanks, Donna x
