How long....

Postby darkcyde » Fri Jul 20, 2012 6:32 pm

....did it take the DWP to inform you of their decision after a medical? And what was the answer?

Im wondering if it takes the same amount of time regardless, or quicker if its positive.

had my home medical a week and a half ago and its killing me!

Mine took about 3-4 weeks and it was a negative (won at tribunal). It'll probably come back negative so you have to fight so don't worry about it if it is in the negative, they're just being a*ses.

I was just gonna ask the exact same question as I had my medical two and a half weeks ago.

Love to all.

Mine turned up a week later, full of cr*p. But I have to wait 13 weeks for a reconsideration. Weird that innit?! I'm going to tribunal and hopefully kick their as*es too. Bloody long wait, but I'm not letting it go. They're just trying it on so keep on at them.

wow....quite a lot of differences! im trying to stay positive....originally applied in March, so hasnt been ages but long enough!

my medical doctor was really quite nice.....read back everything he wrote down, included a statement written by my wife and referred to it on his form so i know for sure its going in.

i ran what he said through the PIP scoring system and got 15 on mobility, and 21 on care so i really cant see how they could possibly deny me anything, but everything is possible i guess!

Although the dr I had was very nice I felt like he did not want to listen to any thing my husband or daughter had to say and they are my main carers.

Love to all.

Alot of it depends if your on the ESA assesment phase or being transfered from IB to ESA

I myself last year was on assessment phase had my medical and heard within 2wks which is standered for assessment phase.

My friend recently was transfered from IB to ESA had there medical and found out result 3months later!!!

Both results were positive.

For DLA it varies and can take along ole time as there in undated in applications/appeals etc and i do believe its a post code lottery to how long you have to wait as many centres are strugglin to do all the back log

Well, ESA for me is a bit of a black hole......I don't qualify for either ESA-Contribution, or ESA-Income Based, so they are not paying me anything. I applied for that back in March at the same time as I applied for DLA.....just had my DLA medical but not heard a thing from ESA lot, so at the moment they don't know if I'm fit for work or not, regardless of the fact I keep sending 'em my GPs sick notes!

It's driving me nuts......I find myself jumping each morning when the postman comes expecting my wife to come back carrying a big brown envelope! I need an electric scooter, I need specialist sunglasses due to light sensitivity, etc, etc......but can't afford a thing until they decide what's happening!
