question

Postby stephen smith » Mon Sep 10, 2012 7:54 pm

I work fulltime as a supervisor at a visitor attraction,I am finding it harder to get through each day, looked at what might happen if I get to stage where I cant carry on,to claim DLA you must be unable to walk or only walk a short distance without severe pain.

There is my dilema,I walk about 8 miles a day when we are busy in school hols, however I am in constant pain with my feet and legs every step, how do I stand(sorry not meant as a pun)?

Hi

DLA currently has two parts Mobility and care.

The mobility is based on your ability to walk and the distance you can walk. The wording however is key as it states how far you can walk without severe discomfort/pain .I dont think however that they would find you being able to walk 8 miles despite being in pain a qualifying condition.

If you feel that you would possibaly qualify make a claim and remember to read every question carefuly as its not just if you can do something but if you have problems or are in pain when you do them.

With you asking about DLA and work, I've moved you into this part of the forum as it seemed more suitable. I wouldn't like to say whether you might qualify or not. You might be better seeing someone familiar with the system, who can advise you more specifically based on your particular situation.
As a Public Moderator of this forum my opinions/views expressed are personal and are no more valid than those of other members and not necessarily those of UKFibromyalgia.
