Fibro and work

Postby Sucee » Thu Mar 06, 2014 12:58 pm

Hi, I've recently been diagnosed with FM. I work in Education full time and seem to be finding it almost impossible to stay in work for more than two weeks. I'm trying really hard to pace myself and rest where possible but exhaustion beats me. The latest is overwhelming pain, I feel like I've been in an accident, hence another spell off work. The leadership are being fantastic at the moment but I'm not sure how long this will last due to the disruption I'm causing. Would love to hear from anyone who is managing to work full time in Education.

I have only been formally diagnosed today but work part time (28 1/2 hours) as a teaching assistant, it is the first time I have been in a job I want to do rather than just for the money, am now concerned as to how I will cope so am very interested in the replies you get.

I hope things improve for you and good luck.
