Blue badge arrived today yeeeeeeee haaaaarrrrr

Postby Helhit » Sat Oct 04, 2014 3:09 pm

Well I couldn't believe it when a blue badge came through the door today, especially as I'd only just received a letter a few days before saying I hadn't qualified!!!

I applied online and as I haven't seen any specialist (my Dr diagnosed FM) I didn't have a letter of proof; only my occy health report from work. I got an email back saying they don't normally look at gp letters, but would if I sent them one. I got one from my Dr for £10 and emailed it over.

I've applied for PIP am still waiting to hear, so I was thinking of appealing the outcome. So they've saved me a job.

I am so delighted, as it really will mean I can get back another bit of my life that I felt was lost to me.

Yeah  !!
Check with your local council, you may well be eligible for a free bus pass too!
I only found out by accident, 5 months after I got my Blue Badge, they don't tell you that one thing leads to another, you just explore!
Enjoy the relative freedom of easier parking!! It's made the world of difference to me!

I'm not on PIP or any benefits. I applied under the extra part that mentions difficulty in walking a set distance, along with a very basic letter from gp saying I have FM and am tired and in pain all the time.

So I'd say it's worth applying for.
