Under scrutiny in Suffolk Ipswich, how long for a decision

Postby Jynxy » Wed Jan 14, 2015 3:10 pm

Hi everyone, hope your all as well as can be.
I've sent off my form with a copy of docs notes, received a letter from atos to say it's been passed to them. I have called to ask what to expect next and have been advised my claim is 'under scrutiny' stage.
They will decide wether or not to have a face to face assessment if the information I have provided is insufficient. The lady would not give any indication as to how long this could take though.

Has anyone applied from Ipswich Suffolk and how long did the whole process take? It seems it varies upon location so I was curious to know what to expect.

Thanks and gentle hugs to all xx

It can vary person to person too so its really like asking 'how long is a piece of string' there really isnt a proper answer :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed: your's will be very straight forward and you here quite soon :!: :!:

Don't wish to put a dampener on things but ATOS took 12 months to send me an appointment for a face to face medical assessment and I really hope they won't take as long to reach their decision. I live in North Wales. Good luck to you friend.

I'm from Ipswich too and I sent off my pip form in December. They sent a letter to say to expect an assessment but no indication of when this will be... I'm not expecting it any time soon...

I am in Lancashire and under Atos - I waited 29 weeks before getting my first assessment appointment. I rejected my first appointment as it was 49 miles away in Yorkshire and waited a further 3 weeks before getting an appointment at my local hospital.
I hope you're not in for a long wait, as it is soul destroying waiting to be assessed and hoping that you will be able to explain your symptoms without losing the plot thanks to your fibro fog.

I applied on 30th September by phone. Form and evidence was sent back end of October. I got an Atos home assessment date for 2nd of January but it got cancelled on the day. Was offered a new one for 12th January. Assessor turned up on time. So I think they are getting quicker. When they received my form back I was sent a text message stating that the wait for an assessment could be as long as 26 weeks. Hopefully you won't have to wait too much longer.

Thanks guys, it just feels like I'm stuck in limbo with this whole thing, cant make plans, cant stay awake, if i sit down i fall asleep, if i stand then my legs hurt, I'm just feeling so frustrated with everything at the moment and completing the form seems to have just stolen what little energy i have left. I feel so worried about the whole thing and would just like a straight answer from someone, a doctor, specialist, dwp, at this rate i think if the cat gave me a bit of good news I'd cling to it with what little strength i have got left. Thanks again guys, heres hoping it doesn't take too long and its another issue i can hopefully draw a line under and try to move on to a more positive period. Xxx

They are getting quicker with their assessment dates...mainly I think cause they have been butt kicked about how long people have to wait. Now just waiting for decision...not sure how long that will take.
