benefit entitlement

Postby namidoll » Fri Feb 20, 2015 6:01 pm

Hi..I'm looking for advice.
I've been recently diagnosed and I don't know if I'm entitled to any extra help. I work 4 hours a week but my husband works full time. We 3 young children and fibro has made day to day coping tough. Am I entitled to claim anything to help?

You could claim for PIP whether you work or not and it makes no difference if your husband works full time or not. PIP (personal independence payment) is for help with care and mobility and is paid to people up to the age of 64, regardless of their financial position. It was previously known as DLA (Disabled living allowance).

More info here - and make sure you tell them how you are on your worst days, as that is how they work out whether you can have it or not.
