ALCOHOL INTOLERANCE

Postby sjc » Thu Jul 19, 2012 3:19 pm

Hi folks. Just wondered if anybody else struggles with tolerating alcohol since having fibromyalgia or any other of your conditions? I went to the pub today and had 1 glass of beer. Shortly after drinking it, I started to have a headache and then I have been throwing up. I feel rough basically. I've felt tired for a few days but I can't believe that having one drink of beer can make one feel poorly. I shall be drinking from now on, I think.

Likewise. I suspect its the pills.

Interestingly, to those peeps who think candida and Fm are linked, wine and beer, combinations of yeast and sugar are a big nono.
Before fibro really kicked in I had food intolerance testing and it came back I was sensitive to those so stopped them all. Made a huge difference in enegy levels and raised mood.

I gave up alcohol some 9 years ago since the mix with medication was a no-no. Accidentally took a gulp of red wine from a friend's glass recently and the pain hit me straight between the eyes! Sticking to my non-alcoholic wine of which there are some reasonable ones around.
Cheers!

I am going to a fancy meal for my grandmas birthday this weekend and don't know whether to risk a day off the pain killers so I can enjoy a drink or not! I love booze, but am not a massive drinker really.

I find smoking fags really makes me sick nowdays though.

I'm also intolerant of alcohol but I've always been a cheap date so to speak. :-D

I find though that things like cigarette smoke (from others as I don't smoke) and strong odours, like air fresheners or petrol, will do the same thing to me. When I'm really bad I will actually throw up from smells. :-?
