I could do with my Aunties coal fireplace!

Postby whoami » Thu Jan 02, 2014 12:06 am

I very often miss my Aunties coal fireplace in her kitchen. There are not a lot of working ones left but there is one in Northallerton, in the middle of a kitchen that usually has a chair or two pulled up to it.

I have so many, memories. Memories of not long ago. These memories are some of the most cherished times of my life. Sitting on the floor or a chair pulled up close. Talking about everything and nothing.

Tonight, here where I live it is to be a glorious -30C . Bloody cold! I know I am going to hurt tomorrow a lot more than today!

I will warm myself thinking of that little coal fireplace tonight and wondering if my Aunt put a bit extra coal on tonight.
I know tomorrow morning that little fire will be burning again. A wonderful lady will be sitting there, drinking a cup of tea quietly, alone with her memories. :blowkiss:

Expect the worst in life you won't be disapointed and you'll be prepared!
