Need advise to choose mattress

Postby ReginaDav » Tue Jul 17, 2018 11:44 am

Hi all!

I'm not diagnosed yet with fibro, but I think I get most of the symptoms already (trouble sleeping, headaches, and morning stiffness) and in my case  , I prefer to prevent problems rather than deal with them in further. I'm thinking to begin with fixing my sleep spot and decided to obtain a mattress for victims of fibro.

Found this https://wisepick.org/best-mattress-for-fibromyalgia/ review and video on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5fSMKbh6ho, but I still feel unwise and think that I probably missed something important. :yikes:
I will be glad to hear any tips and advise on how to choose the right one, which suits me in the best way! What the most trustful brands?

Thanks in advance!

I don’t have a particular brand but what I do have is a medium mattress with a thick memory foam mattress topper. I find a mattress topper a must if like me your on limited funds although they can come expensive. I wait for sales. It’s another option to replacing a whole bed/mattress.

Hi, Regina! Sorry to hear you are struggling with sleep. Can't really recommend any particular mattress, though I'd like to share some tips that helped me to ease pain during my bedtime.
I have a few things that are helping me at the moment. The first is a set routine, this helps your bodily clock to recognize when it is bedtime. Secondly an hour before bed time I take a slow mag (magnesium supplement). This helps you to relax and sleep well. Thirdly, after eight in the evening I do nothing that forces me to think, like reading for instance, this allows your brain to slow down, and you would not be playing the last thought over and over in your head, or re-read the book in the back of your mind as you lie and wait for sleep.
Also a nice soak in a hot bath helps when I'm having really bad muscle aches and I sleep with my pillow rolled to support my neck as that's something that often bothers me
I hope this helps a bit.
