I had lots of friends once when I was quite well enough : to babysit for them -to feed them - a shoulder to cry on- clean their homes when ill - and so on
and I thought thats what friends did - appartently not my mistake,

I have one friend who I barely see but she has health problems too and works full-time with a little one. 27 years we have known each other and not a bad word has every passed are lips to one another but we telephone each other and try to support each other as best we can - thats good enough for me.
This is for you dear friend:
No friend like and old friend by P. STRONG

There's not friend like an old friend who has walked lifes' road with you - easy to get on with like a worn - well - fitted shoe ....... there's no friend like an old friend when blows fall and troubles brew - its good to turn to somebody who knows you through and through.[ thanks mate]

and heres to the predatory friends we've all know or known:

Do not keep on with a mockery of friendship after the substance is gone- but part, while you can part friends, bury the carcase of friendship: it is not worth the embalming by Wm Hazlit.
