I noticed this before - maybe there is a genetic disposition to FM in celtic blood lines. Be interesting to find out, I have both Scots & Irish blood.

Not sure the few people we have on here are representative of FMers as a whole. The other site I'm on has far more wide ranging areas even some from other countries. It just seems to work out that way on this site.

I'm only 1/8 celt anyway and that's an Irish bit.

Im just pure Scottish - but two things i used to bathe in warm water in a place called West Kilbride (near Neclear station) duh! Well that was before all the scares and we knew nothing at that time. Also does anyone remember the Orange day in 80's, it was vivid orange where i lived and lasted for hours and hours, its Chernival related.
Also had Polio Virus when young.
Disposition well i have 14 cousins and aunts all with this - even down to the heart stuff.
And 3 boys dead before 23 year old.
So there is def a genetic link i would say , at least in mty family.
We were asked if we would go to hospital for tests, the aussies said yes, i said yes, but my Edinburgh Family said NO - so we couldnt go ahead with it.

I have Scottish ancestors. I'd heard that my M.E. was a Celtic gene but didn't know about the fibro.

ME/Fibro is all over the world.
I have family in USA, Norway and Australia and they have this.
But i think its rhumatically based, and years ago they called it arthritis or Rheumatics so i guess its been here for a long time, only now they are finding out more and given it the name me and fibro.
