Hello.....another newbie !

Postby Helene » Thu Aug 03, 2006 11:52 am

My name is Helene, Im 37 and live in Manchester. I live with my partner of 18 years, Rob and have a 13 year old daughter, Lauren and a big soft rottweiler called Mishka.
I first started having big problems with my health 6 years ago. FMS was mentioned in passing, and then they said I had Lupus. Two years later they decided it was MS, as there were "spots" on my brain scan. I asked for a second opinion, and eventually they decided it wasnt MS, but I have Vasculitis causing small bleeds on my brain. 6 long years later they have finally concluded I have FMS, Lupus, and Rheumatoid Arthritis !.
None of which is good news, but after such a long time living in limboland, I could of kissed the Rheummy who finally told me what I have....Im sure many of you will understand this!
On going back through my medical history, Ive probably had things going on for about 20 years, but none of it could be "clumped together" to aid a diagnosis, until now.
I suffer a whole gammut of symptoms, which Ive learnt to deal with over the years myself, so I have plenty of tips if anyones wanting them. I dont work anymore, but used to be a florist, and then I got into photography, until my aversion to light took a hold, and the hand pain & stiffness/numbness took over!.
My hobbies are painting, which I have to do at a very leisurely pace
:D , anything paranormal fascinates me, I do a lot of reading, love the Internet and ride pillion on Robs motorbike ( when I have the strength to hold on !!!).
And to think, just a few years ago, my hobbies were dancing, hill walking, socialising with friends, DIY & badminton ! :?

Anyway, thats just about me done. Im looking forward to making some new friends here, and sharing some laughs, info and hindsight with you all.

Take care, Helene

I am still getting to grips with navigating this forum type thingy. never used one before now. I, too am a new member, and, like you, also have vasculituis as well as FM. I hopr you get support from using this forum. I have only been a member for a short while (a week or so) and am already encouraged just by knowing other people out there suffer the same way, and find ways to deal with it.
All the best, and let us know how you get on.
