Hi Everyone,

After discussions with Pam of FMAUK over the years and reluctant to commit to a support group, I am finally organising an official Stoke-on-Trent / Stafford support group. I have found to start with I am meeting with only one other person. I realise some people may work, but for now the first meeting will be on Monday 26th November at Trentham Gardens (main coffee shop in Garden centre with sofas) an informal one to discuss a few things like how the group should go forward, whether it's just a chat and support we all need or information sessions, hopefully also in the future getting professionals in to give talks etc... and some ideas of raising awareness and funding for treatments.

I am at the moment enquiring as to which charity to register it with, but there needs to be a collective rather than splinter groups. I know some of you have already had a meet up, but I would love it if you could email me firstly your availability and which day/night suits best.

If you're anything like me, I hate these winter nights, once I get in I want to crawl up in bed! Please email me through this forum.

I forgot to attach the time - Monday 26th November at 11am. If more people can make a different day time I will change this to suit!

Hi Shelly,
I am afraid that day is out for me as I am seeing the specialist, and also having pre op done ready for my operation on my hand, November and December are manic for me, with hospital visits,
I will come to the first one after the new year, as be nice to meet up with others,
soft hugs,

Hi Loraine,

I don't mind changing the day/time if it suits anyone better. The only days that are not good for me are Thursday and Fridays, apart from that I'm ok I think. I realise some people may want evening, as I too work, but I am self employed and do sometimes work in the evenings.

Let me know if you had a spare slot somewhere before the New Year!

Look forward to meeting you soon xx

I've only just joined the forum, but I'd be interested in coming along to one of these - unfortunately I'm working that day, but if there's another meeting on an evening / weekend hopefully I'll be able to make it. I need all the help I can get at the moment trying to get my head round this!

Hi,

Would Sunday afternoon be better for everyone? I only have one other person to rearrange anyway so how about at Trentham Gardens on Sunday 25th at about 3pm?

Due to some not being able to make it the first meeting will now be at Trentham Gardens on TUESDAY 27th NOV at 1:30PM!!

If anyone can't make it, please note down below a list of days and times you will be able to make and then we can set in stone when the subsequent ones will be (perhaps once a month). Add me on facebook - https://www.facebook.com/shellyquarmby to see what I look like so we can spot each other!

Thanks,

Shelly

Hi,

So sorry to hear your news. I hope your family and your brother are getting the support you all need. We are hoping to meet again before Christmas. I am sorting out a suitable venue and time/day. Most venues that are decent want to charge me, but I may be looking at Tittensor Village Hall as I get a slight discount for being a resident. Please circulate the poster attached and email fmstaffs@gmail.com for your email to be included in the mailing list for meeting times.

Hi Everyone,

I am in the process of setting up a new support group for the Staffordshire region of Stoke-on-Trent, Stafford, Newcastle-Under-Lyme and wherever anyone would like to travel from really! We are meeting officially for the first time this Monday 7th January at 11:30am at Tittensor Village Hall, off the A34 between Stone and Trentham. Tittensor Village Hall is on Winghouse Lane.

We have a website that is currently under construction - www.fmstaffs.yolasite.com but you can sign up to the mailing list or email for any support or details just email fmstaffs@gmail.com

You can also preview the first newsletter I sent out before Christmas - madmimi.com/mimio/0e8263/pr...

Please feel free to email fmstaffs@gmail.com for any questions about the group or the meeting.

I hope to meet you soon!
