I am setting up a Bristol support group... :D

Postby science » Sun Jun 27, 2010 4:09 pm

Hi, my name is Sarah and I have post-viral syndrome/fm/CFS/ME depending on which doctor I speak to!

I have been ill since I was around 14 although it is totally manageable and I am now 29 and manage to work part time and have a great social life : )

I would like to set up a support group in Bristol (I am based near Gloucester Road) to meet with other people with these conditions, to share advice and support each other, to listen to each other, to make new friends and possibly with a a goal of some fundraising activities.

If anybody is interested, please email me at sarahtownend@hotmail.com and we can go from there!

Best wishes and I look forward to meeting some other people who understand!

Sarah :D x

Unfortuantly there may not be anyone from round by you on the forum at the mo. It can be frustrating waiting to hear from people, have you put some flyers in doctors surgeries and rhuemy dept of local hospital? :hugs: :hugs:

Hi Sarah, if you'd like to put details on the FIbroAction website, just let me know. It's completely free, no strings attached - we just offer the publicity opportunity to groups.

I'd recommend writing a letter to your local paper and also giving your details to the Patient Information Point at the local hospital. Might be worth sending details to prof davies as well as he has a Bristol clinic.
I run FibroAction, a small national charity raising awareness of Fibromyalgia Syndrome. I am not a qualified healthcare professional. If you would like medical references for any facts quoted, just PM me.
