Fibrofog moment of the day

Postby Mellymoo » Thu Apr 19, 2012 10:33 pm

I have started logging my foggy moments on a social networking page calling them my fibrofog moments of the day, and thought I would share the latest one with you. I'm so pleased that I can look at these ditzy moments in such a lighthearded way:)

Driving to a shop with a friend, getting the bits and bobs I needed, leaving shop and walking to the passenger side of the car cos I forgot I was driving !!! Duh!!! :D

Hope it makes you smile :-D

(On the downside, having a naff day, in lots of pain and extremely tired and typing this has taken ages cos I have to keep going back to rectify my mistakes)

You just made me smile - thanks :-) I've had such a foggy day today, nearly cried when I found yet another stone cold brew. (I don't know why that upsets me more than forgetting my name, my birthday and the end of my sentences).

Today I;

- forgot about a brew due to inpromptu cutting of toenails
- went downstairs for my meds after breakfast (I ate in bedroom as parents were out). Came back with a cup of tea and no meds. Went back down and emerged with a fresh glass of water and no meds. Third time I remembered them but then left something else downstairs do had to go back down on my bum yet again
- went to the Dr and used one of those electronic sign in things. I had to remember my month of birth (June) and the day (5). I got stared at for taking so long.
- went to Pharmacy and couldn't remember my NI number
- went to watch last night's Apprentice on iPlayer, only to realise I watched it last night...

I think Fibro Fog moments definitely need recording. One of my faves was finding my glass of water in the microwave, the milk in my bedroom and my glasses in the fridge. No idea how I managed that one!

I've moved this into here with it giving us a little hilarity at what we have done

My proudest/daftest fibrofog moment so far involves getting ready for doglet walkings. We were all ready to go, just needed to attach the lead. Spent a frantic few minutes looking all over for her lead, then turned to look at her and it dawned on my that she was already attached to her lead, and the other end was in my hand

Hi all,
I've had Fibro/Arthritis for many years and used to think I was cracking up. My other half found our dogs toy in the fridge. I went to the toilet only to find I had put socks down there. I have put socks/underwear in the bathroom bin. I 've put the carton of milk in the microwave. Lost the spoons and realised they were in the tea, coffee or sugar containers. The list is endlist.

Off the subject of Fibro fog (but it could be related) I have heard from my O/T specialist that people with Fibro often think their hands and feet are bigger than they actually are. I have not had that but I do get (and don't laugh, lol) that I should have another finger. Its a weird feeling. Okay, you think I'm cracking up. I also get a restlessness kind of feeling in my eyes to. I have to close my eyes tight to try and get rid of it. Does anyone else get either and is it fibro? Anyway, just wanted to share and ask.

Thanks for reading and have a fab weekend (if it lets you).

I haven't heard about FM making your hands and feet seem larger Fizzy :-? :-? :-? Nor have I had any thoughts that I should have another finger, or toe either :-? :-? :-? As we have our own little eccentricities where FM is concerned, maybe that is yours

Eyes~wise, I often get a feeling that they're moving all over the place, but so fast that I can't focus on anything. To get rid of it, I have to close them and screw them up, but this always makes them feel like they have gritty bits in them :dunno: :dunno: :dunno: I'm due my eye test next month, so I can see if the optician just thinks I'm    or confirms it

And I don't think you're cracking up, I know you have done

Hi Fluppypuffy,
Thanks for replying. It confirms it then. My brain (if i have one) has b***ered up. Lol. Yes, my old O/T said he had heard of alot of people that think their hands and feet are alot bigger than actual real size. I really think every person who has Fibro should have a brain scan. I hear in America they do this and over here in certain hospitals.

Its strange how it makes you think as they say with the pain its to do with stress but I can't say that stress is making me feel like I have an extra finger. Lol.

Well, as I always say:- try to rule the Fibro and not the other way round (she says with her dressing gown on) but you know what I mean. (well I do, Lol). xox

the night before last i had my normal amis, fell asleep in the chair as i do every night, when jon (my OH) went to bed i (apparently) went into the kitchen tried to wash his work clothes even though had already been done, and put my blanket i put that in the washing machine and went up to bed.

the only thing is i dont have any memory of doing it i remember being in the chair and then i woke up briefly and i was in bed between that i have no idea.

today i emptied the dishwasher and put a pile of clean plates in the fridge and the milk in the cupboard.

fibro fog hitting me hard today.

Not a day goes by when I don't do/say/forget at least one thing. i also have 'shifty' eyes - as i'm settling down to sleep usually and my eyeballs start flicking all over the place. I too screw up my eyes tpo try to stop it. Though I don't think my feet and hands are larger than they are i sometimes feel like I'm shorted than usual when i'm walking along or that, when i'm in a stationary car, I'm moving slowly.
best spoonerism lately is 'an authal locour' - guess what for? a local author - please note that i made it grammatically correct by sayin an instead of a!!!
