I took my little dog to the beach today, the sun was out but it was still c.c.cold.

Ah, well, atleast I know she's good on the bus so we shall go again. I'm hurting like hell now but it was worth it... better than staying in doors. Hugs all round... (smilies have been stolen by the gremlins).. XX

Glad you enjoyed your day out in the sun with your dog. Animals and sunshine can lift anyones spirits and it is a case of weighing up the enjoyment against the aftermath and enjoyment must have won as you intend to go again.
As for the gremlins they get everywhere. :teddy-bear:

Oh I'm hurting soooo much again today... I'm going for shiatsu in a while, see if that helps, as long as I don't undo all the good while shopping and walking home. Hmmm

Hey remember me? Just popped by to say hi. Things are going ok here - I've just had my Blue Badge application accepted, which is great because I'm having to use my wheelchair more and more these days. I've pimped my walking stick with pink rhinestones and will be doing the same to my wheelchair.....I may be disabled but I'm doing it with style!
Wishing you well :rudolph:

I know it's not Xmas but I like the reindee'rs blingy nose

What an unwelcoming, self centred, uncaring and nasty bunch some of you are. Just taking a look at the amount of 'unanswered posts' says it all. Quit being such selfish, judgemental individuals. Thankfully I will never need a forum such as this in my life...but I feel sorry for those who feel they do.
Adios b!£$%&s!!

The only reason I'm responding to this latest post from the above member is for the benefit of the rest of the members on here.

The previous poster asked a question about unanswered topics/posts and how it can make people feel in this topic viewtopic.php?f=12&t=16195 which, as can be clearly seen, received a number of replies from both members and moderators, which we thought explained why posts/topics may sometimes not receive many or no replies.

Based on the above post, it would seem that the explanations of why some people decide not to reply/comment on some things that are said on here were not acceptable to the OP.

There are many, many reasons why a topic/post may not have any replies. It could be in an unsuitable part of the forum, or could have been posted during a particularly busy time and has quickly dropped down the board. There are automated bots that read posts in their info~gathering function which adds to the numbers of times something has been viewed but not replied to, plus there are times when we are just not in the right position to add something to what has been posted.

It was said in the other topic and I will say it here as well...........Should anyone feel upset/hurt or just generally concerned that something they have said/posted hasn't been received by others as they hoped or thought it might be, then please let myself and/or one of the other mods know so we can look into why it may be being unread/ignored.

Also, if anyone shares the same or similar opinions that the previous poster does about how we are on here, please let us know about that as well, incl what it is in particular that has given rise to these thoughts and feelings, so we can look into it and see what could be done to try and remove this impression that is being generated.

I have read through two pages of unanswered posts, not the full messages, just a quick over read as my eyes won't put up with much for long.

I have seen many asking about local groups or people from specific areas. To be honest, they would only appeal to those from the areas mentioned.
Most of the posters have also posted multable threads and are obviously being answered on them.

Some posts are locked, i.e the 'how to' posts by mods.

Some posts are by organisations, Brian Barr, Fibroduck etc.

Some ask specific questions which a lot of us would not be able to answer but again, these posters have posted else where on the board.

I found one post on the first two pages that I would be concerned about if the poster was not answered.

I have slowed down my posts on here because of problems but my overall opinion of this forum has been good. I know that many try to help if they think they can but we all think that someone else will answer someone if we can't.

I can't answer someone asking about legal issues concerning her job or about a support group in Yorkshire, or someone asking for a single woman with FM for friendship etc etc.

The fact that these unanswered posts are mainly from people who are posting elsewhere, is a comforting thought as they are NOT being ignored as some think. The amount of members on the forum and the daily activity on here speaks for itself.

We all want to help if we can, we are not selfish, and one thing that should be remembered, we all have tough times when we need support but because of personal circumstances, being in severe pain, going through bereavement or just not in a good place are not able to return in kind at that time.

Take care all. Members and Mods alike. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

I know others have already answered and raised some very valid points but wanted to also raise my tuppenyworth to Leona's post on Wed 10 April about folk on here being uncaring and selfish. Not sure why this person feels folk are like that, as it has definatly not been my experience of this site.

Sometime people can post a topic that can be very specialist / does not have a general interest or is informative and so doesn't seem to need a response , does that mean she wants someone to answer every single thread even if it is of no interest to them or they can not contribute anything meaningful to it?

As I sometime post topics myself, I know I for one would not be looking for just mindless chatter in a response . Usually a topic is posted because it something that a person feel strongly about or because they don't know what to do . Given these reasons a post of mindless chatter would just confuse the issue and raise false hopes in the originators that they had an intelligent response to thier question and help was at hand that may just get them out of a difficulty.

It seems somewhat churlish to ridicule the folk on this forum for not responsing to some posts. As others have said we come on here because we all share a common interest /condition and as such have our own burdens to bear . We are on the whole mutual supportive of each other as this illness and others comments can make life very difficult. Given the problems of the "outside " world we don't need it from one of our own as well .

If I have offended anyone with this post I'm sorry but am very protective of my virtual fibro family as you have all offered me great support at a difficult time in my life .if that the case mods please edit as you feel appropriate.

Nothing at all needs editing in what you've said ISM :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss:

Hopefully now this matter has been dealt with, this thread will be able go back to what it was originally meant to be.
