Meeting with Friends

Postby vixster » Tue Feb 26, 2013 3:59 pm

I'm meeting with a couple of my friends today after not seeing them since Christmas because I've been too tired.

I'm going to try and explain why I haven't been able to meet up sooner and also why sometimes I don't text them as much.

Hopefully they'll understand :-) I don't have much energy but still I hope I can get my point across lol

I had this problem and the best thing to do in my experience is to write down fibromyalgia on a piece of paper and give it to them. Good friends will look it up and soon begin to understand everything as there is some really good literature out there now. Also Google 'a letter from fibromyalgia' to see if you can find this post on fmuk Facebook page as it is simple, not too long and even better to hand over to your friends. I hope this helps :)

Thanks for advice guys :-)

I'll try and do that another time as I'm at work and having a hard time keeping my eyes open and head off the desk (!)

If I feel they haven't listened/taken in what I say today then I'll find that "Letter from Fibromyalgia".

Print off the spoon theory for them to read! Or get them to do it :)

Hope you muster some energy to enjoy yourself :)

Thank you guys :-)

My back isn't happy with me but my mind is now.

My friends understood and one of them said she thought I kept fobbing her off with "I'm tired" all the time, she thought I had got new friends but now she understands why I'm like that :-) She also said that she could come around to mine more often (I'd love that :-) )

I'm very glad I talked to them about it :-D

Thanks again

Having friends round is a great idea, as then you don't need to venture out in this cold...so a double ++ = company & staying inside in the heat :-D

glad it worked out...... true friends always understand :-D
