Might sound silly, ut do any of you eat loads of ice??

Postby Lizzyear » Thu May 16, 2013 11:07 pm

Hi,
I know this probably sounds wierd, but do any of you feel the need to eat ice ALL the time?
My poor fridge can't keep up with me, I eat crushed ice by the pint glass. Can't work out if it might momentary distraction from the pain, as cant think of anything else whilst eating and crunching the ice or because of the meds I am taking? Poor hubby, all he can her is me crunching ice or else my chair going ten to the dozen as it has a massage and heat programme on it,which is quite noisy!! Would love to hear your thoughts on the ice!
Thanks for reading this.
Gentle hugs

Sorry no this is definitely not a fibro symptom and I would talk to your GP about it

Hi

I eat lots and i mean lots of icelollies 1 after the other. I am on fruit shoots at the momemt as they are half price at morrisons lol! Whatever is on offer. I think mine is to do with all the ulcers i have in my mouth right now. Will be pleased when i have had biopsies on 3rd June at least then i will know what they are and they can be treated as they are so painful.

There is a condition called pica which is eating things like ice, coal, etc... It may mean having an iron deficiency or anaemia as the body is craving to get this into the system. People will then eat non food items to get their nutrients, chewing fingernails is another one. Maybe go to your GP to have some tests run.

I have phases like that
I eat those ice lollies when I have those outbursts of sweat
or is it when I feel hot?
has nothing to do with the season or the weather

at the moment I have the cold sweat phase
here I don't eat the lollies, they would make me more cold than I am already
with freezing hands and feet etc
here I don't like hot drink either, gives me the cold sweat

maybe when I have the "low" temperature phase, neither nornal, nor high temp, in between them

don't know if that was helpful

all the best
