Postby beckstar127 » Sun Sep 01, 2013 7:15 pm

Does anyone else have a sore head when they brush there hair??

I have only noticed this recently and wondered if anyone else got it.

My head burns really quick in the sun, so I have to wear a hat. If someone else blow dries my hair, I'm always complaining its too hot for me. I can't use brushes that are scratchy fine bristles, n my head used to burn when I had highlights. I never thought this was yet another fibro problem. I ought to av known better!!

Yes, my head hurts when I use the wrong brush. The bristles have to be either very soft (like my air styling brush that also rotates which means less pain for my wrists) or they need to have a round knob at their ends.

I used to love my ponytail but now it's more like a lose bird's nest to avoid pain and headaches. I wish I could let it lose but that would make me overheat and sweat like there's no tomorrow. :-| So far I couldn't get myself to having it cut short.

Sometimes my head will also start itching for no obvious reason. I'm wondering if it's because it's "healing" after I irritated it?

When my health started to go down hill again I decided to cut mine all off, I was struggling to blow dry and straigten it and without the bob I had just looked messy plus my scalp was dry and itchy and painfull , I had it cut to a pixie and it works really well I just wash it let it dry on its own then put a little product to make it sit flat or rough it up depnding what Im doing. Ive started to henna it recently whch makes it a nice reddy colour and lovely and shiny and covers over my few whites
hair is a bit of personal thing I know but I think sometimes vanity has to take a back seat especially when it hurts so much to style

Yes mine does aswel. My daughter is a hairdresser and I badly need my hair sorting out but this seems impossible at the moment as I can't bear my head to be touched or sit long enough for it to be done. X

My scalp hurts when I brush it too & when it was longer & I had to have it in a pony tail for work my head used to really hurt when I put it down again. The clips & grips seemed to pull my hair & would really hurt afterwards. I ended up having it cut into a short bob which is much easier to manage & I don't have to put it up for work anymore

Having blonde hair n blue eyes I've pale skin, like most. I always thought the sore scalp etc was for that reason. Obs not.
