Joints seizing up

Postby Wackers34 » Thu Nov 07, 2013 8:51 pm

Ive started to get really stiff everyday, especially in my back and shoulders and neck...It feels like my bones are seizing up and when I relax my muscles I get lots of crack sounds, especially in my mid back area.

I try and do gentle stretches every evening to help this, what else can help seizing up / crackly joints? I already take fish oils ...does anyone else get this due to fibro?

I certainly do. Some nights, when I wake for the 40th time, if I flip over in bed you can hear almost every bone and joint in my body crack. It's actually quite gross. It seems to come and go with me, much like other symptoms of FMS--so you're definitely not alone.

Me too, the cold and damp are doing me no favours. My joints and back crack and creak, not very painful just a weird sensation. My shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands and knees are very stiff of late, sometimes i feel like i'm trapped in a vice and being squeezed, very odd and not nice.
All part of wretched fibro. I'm better when i'm up and going..eventually

With me it's my knees, sometimes they just sieve up and walking is pain full. I can't explain the pain, and just getting up from the couch to make a cup of tea is becoming a problem. I go for a massage 1 a week and for a little while I'm pain free, I also use a tens machine and that helps a little.

I get this too, the weather is no help at all.

I use a hot water bottle for the pain and a thermal layered top to try to compress and keep more of the cold out, but tbh I still get pain.
