digestion issues

Postby Wackers34 » Sat Nov 16, 2013 5:06 pm

i have been feeling and sleeping great last couple of nights and for no reason at all, have had attack of the gut...Appetite gone, pain in upper abdomen, loose stools, don't seem to be digesting properly and lots of gas!

Had this on and off at the beginning of fibro journey 11 months ago, could it be IBS? Im eating very healthily, and not on any new meds at moment to cause this, in fact im on amitriptyline which is meant to have opposite effect!

Anyone else get this? I don't think its a bug as noone else has it in family and I don't feel buggy :o(

Hi Wackers!
It could be that you have IBS, it's very common with people like us who have Fibromyalgia, but to get an honest diagnosis, you MUST get it checked out by your GP/consultant, don't leave it, Monday-be on the phone to your GP and get things rolling. Having a good diet is always important, but do you know of any allergies?
Good luck to you!

It does sound like ibs I get it really bad. Amitriptyline done help as it relaxes muscles but I still get attacks now and then especially if I eat fatty foods last time I was fish and chips. C ur gp so they rule out anything else. I take buscapan which really helps :-D

thanks peoples...I am seeing doc Mon anyway, so will bring it up then - there are always so many symptoms to discuss!

I have been tested for Celiac and eat realtively low gluten anyway...havent tried cutting dairy, maybe that? I have however had digestion issues my whole life, i think due to IBS as a child...Its only flared up since Ive had fibro diagnosis about 11 months ago

Things like ulcerative colitis isnt there bleeding with this?
