Blemishes, spots, skin going crazy

Postby Karou » Wed Mar 12, 2014 12:39 am

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone else has trouble with this? Even as a teenager my skin looked fine, no spots, blackheads, visible pores, etc. It now seemslike I've gone back in time and my face is catching up. Tiny blackheads on chin and nose, huge pores and greasy T-Zone.
I wash my face and hands regularly, try not to touch my face unnecessarily and have a moisturiser that isn't greasy. I don't eat junk food a lot ( occasional microwave chicken burger), cut out most sweets and only drink fizzy water, no coke etc.

I've had to start eating wheat again because I simply can't afford the gluten free products as they cost nearly 3 times as much. Not good for IBS and Fibro but ESA assessment rate is my only income. Could that cause my skin troubles as well? Or do you have any other suggestions please?
Gentle :hugs: :hugs: , Karou

I have never given this much though until I read your notes, (or is it called a message or what) very new to computer ,I have been having a lot of skin problems which I have been putting down to age, I get very itchy rashes my skin is crimson, then when it goes it leaves my skin very dry,but I can see where it was as it leaves a very pale pattern that is identical to where it was, my dr does not know what it is, I also have spots that come around my nose and on my chin, is this something else we put down to fibro, or perhaps we are going back to our teen years again it takes me an age to write as I am only using one finger, love to all I hope the sun is lifting spirits,

Lindilu, I'm taking iron 200mg once a day. The corners of my mouthkeptgetting sore and the chemist said it's quite common if you're lacking iron. Used to take hair food which has B12 in it until about 2 weeks ago but can't afford it right now. I didn't know B12 can do this, will haveto keep an eye on that, thanks. :-) Maybe there is too much in it.

Dejay, has your GP done any tests? Maybe they could send you to a specialist? I had a look on drGoogly and found this website with pictures of some skin problems: http://dermnetnz.mobify.me/reactions/urticaria-like.html
Hope you can find out what causes it and find some relief.

Is it possible to reduce the iron?
