This fatigue is so worrying

Postby Nicola28 » Fri Jul 25, 2014 8:00 pm

Hey guys
This is the first time feeling intense fatigue like this even tho I have had fibro around 5 years . I also have really bad anxiety & depression that has worsened the last few weeks. I'm actually on the couch or in bed the last few days its so overwhelming . I'm also extremely worried (due to anxiety) that the fatigue is due to something else just coz I never felt like this before :( I'm only 28 a single mother to a five year old and I'm at my wits end :( I'm seeing my pain specialist soon I'm hoping he can help coz my own gp is not proving helpful . Any advice or suggestions greatly appreciated , it's also extremely humid & I can't stick the heat

Unfortunately fatigue is part of fibro . why don't u get as much information off line. I downloaded information and printed it off and gave what I found to my gp and all the benefit places. Many GPS don't think fibro is an illness. Fibro. Is tough but we are tougher. Educate yourself about the illness and show the non believes what fibro is.

You will get good and bad days. Make the most of your good days and understand what is happening to you on the bad days. Good luck.

I always let everyone know how this fatigue is, though I have been a Long time sufferer and have now learned how to pace myself even on the really bad days. The medication doesn't help in this respect as most of the tablets also make you drowsy.Of course each illness affects us all to lesser or greater degree, therefore we each have to find our own way of coping. Here's hoping you soon recover and have some good days. Don't give in to it set yourself some targets and try to achieve them but don't beat yourself up if not all is achieved. Try to stop worrying it isn't life threatening and worry leads to depression which can soon overtake and end up being worse symptoms.
Love and best wishes.

I totally understand how you are feeling. I seem to go through cycles of intense fatigue, sometimes for no reason and others from taking exercise or overdoing things and it can be quite scary. :yikes:  I am a lot older than you and don't have the responsibility of a small child but I just have to give in to it and sleep even if it's only an hour then I can usually manage through the rest of the day. This might not be of much help to you but I think the only thing to do is try and manage it round your child's routine. Things will ease off, try and get out in the sun if you are able as it can recharge your batteries. Good luck :-) :-) :-)

I too have this fatigue, I can get up have breakfast and meds and within an hour I am falling asleep.
Trying to explain it anyone is so difficult they just think you are being lazy.
Last week I was working away, every lunchtime I went and lay down on the bed and slept till my alarm woke me, I had a morning off and at 9.30, I was back in bed. My afternoon off I went to bed at 1.30 and slept till 7, got up worked my last session of the day and was back in bed by 9.30.
It really is crazy because I struggle to sleep at night with my legs and back in pain and jumping and frequently end up having to take more morphine.
My GP says it's normal, get used to it, oh how I would love to really say what I think to him, but then I don't suppose it would help any.

So here I am, dozy, sleepy, tired, fatigued and all of the other dwarves rolled into one.

Sending positive thoughts to you all

Hi Google the 'spoon theary' it's a really his analogy and helps u to understand the fatigue and maybe pace yourself. Ask if go to be referred for accupuncture it really helped me with pain, headaches especially leg pain. It is free on the nhs and really worth a try. Hope this helps :-D

Yer replies are so comforting I don't feel as alone as I don't know anyone with the illness & it's so hard to explain to friends n family some think I'm crazy . Altho I'm a beauty therapist & makeup artist & always like to look after my appearance n I reckon I haven't worn makeup in bout 3 weeks  .... The symptoms make my anxiety worse coz I worry so much ATM I have swollen glands & I always automatically think the worst . I have had anxiety since I was 4 & diagnosed clinically depressed at 9 so I'm not new to these feelings but still hard to cope . I have accupunture weekly & its really good for my pain but unfortunately im in ireland & not free :( but my parents help with cost . i must check the spoon theory thanks :-) Thanks for taking the time to read or reply . :-D,

I know how you are feeling as I have not slept for the last five days due to this heat. And the pain I get in my legs and back when I do try to sleep, but by morning I can be so tired I find myself go back to sleep till dinner time sending you gentle hugs. It does get better but it the flair ups that makes me cross with myself.
