I have signed and shared to all my groups on facebook. In light of Dr Miriam Stoppard's articles in the Mirror (albeit the first one was in a negative light), the latest one last Friday was more accurate, we need all the public and political awareness we can get. xx

I don't want to be negative, but I think you might need to be more specific about what you are aiming to achieve with this petition. In the first sentence it says it is 'to raise awareness' of fibromyalgia. But then it goes on to say 'Fibromyalgia is underfunded' and 'We want more funding for fibromyalgia'.

So is the point to raise awareness of the condition or to ask for more funding? And more funding for what? For research into the condition, for conventional medical treatment, alternative therapies, benefits for people who can't work because of the condition?

It is great that you have got so much support but I just think it would make more impact if you were more focussed on what you want to get out of it. Make it specific to the department you are lobbying (I think you have to choose a Government Department, you can't just petition 'the Government' ) and outline clearly what you want them to do.

Good luck with it :)

Did some of you join this group just to spread the petition. Are you the same person? A lot of you have only posted the once and others twice. Looks a bit suspicious....
I am a fibro fighter not a fibro sufferer. I will keep fighting from the minute I get up til the minute I go to bed.

Signed. Thanks for making the petition. I'm actually a member of Care2 myself, but it never occurred to me to make a petition about fibromyalgia.
