I too have fibro and ostio arthritis and at times do not know which pain belongs to which, I know the cold wet weather makes my joints hurt, but the heat seems to effect my fibro, and I dont like a realy cold wind,so the weather seems to play havic no matter what! My doctor says it is more the atmospherics that effects people with pain problems, so I dont know. I just know I like a nice day with the sun out but not to hot,and no wind, I am not asking for much am I ! but I can understand when you say it is just more pain, unfortunatly I cant take anti inflamitries that could help OA,but I have had both now for what seems a life time and I keep hoping someone somewhere will come up with a magic potion, lol

I was diagnosed first with OA in both my hips and then just over a year later with fibro. Like you dejay, I can't take any form of anti-inflammatory drugs. So waiting for a magic cure for the fibro or the right time for hip replacements  xxxx :grouphug:

About 12 years ago I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia & Rheumatoid arthritis, I get confused with what pain belongs to what, recently I have suffered with rib pain, even my bra hurts me! On a visit to my GP, to discuss the pain in my thumb joints, I have been told its due to Osteo arthritis & my age, great! I seem to be loosing a battle with autoimmune disease. I have been told by a dermatologist I have Lichen Sclerosis. Some days, I don't know which way to turn. I am on Tramacet & Amytripteline, I cannot take anything else as I seem to suffer with side affects.
Does anyone else suffer with rib pain, and is there anything I can do, to ease the pain.

I have PsA and fibro. Like others I have no idea which is causing which ever pain I have from one day to the next. I do take anti inflams, and I am on a really high dose. I also take tramadol, cocodamol, amytriptolin, gabapentin and DMARD's. I still have days in agony or so tired I cant move. I shouldnt be ble to feel anything but I do. Also, they find new things with the PsA that change due to more research. It is really hard but I just think myself lucky that I can still do thimgs on good days.

Hi this is the first time I've written anything about what we all have , I have had sever pains for all my life when I was young I was refused to go on certain school trips for fear of my knee joints collapsing under me ,at a young age of ten this was a very upsetting time seeing your friends waving to you as their bus went off for a day of fun , but as a child of the seventies you were always told to pick yourself up and brush yourself down , even though in today's society it would seem cruel ,it has seen ,that I control my life with more rigour than others that I know , in the mid nineties I became acutely aware of the pain everyday in work , I was in a very physical job , yet carried on as I thought that it was normal to be this way as I had known no better , then one sunny summer afternoon a drastic change happened and I could not even walk without so much pain it would physically start to make me pass out , a friend of many years seen this change and tried to carry me home but as I was a bigger chap with no avail , I managed to get home with a lift off a neighbour who saw ,as he was passing the distress I was in . My mother , god bless her , realised after talking to my wife ,who has been and still is my strength, that something was desperately wrong and got an appointment with a specialist at great cost. I at this time was in a state of despair. The resulting prognosis was that I had osteoarthritis , this in a man of his early thirties was devastating even more so as I had two young children ,a decade of investigation and more X ray's that should of been allowed seen my self being medicated for said ailments . Yet the pain and discomforts prevailed and after many a year it was concluded that I had F.M as well , I had not even heard of this ailment and it brought me down into more despair. It took me a long while ,to come to terms with my disability ,yet I prevailed and today I have a understanding with myself that these absolute life changing pains and episodes that are out of my control ,are mine and that I ,now choose to be a " Man with a disability" not let the disability choose the Man I will be , everyday is a struggle, every step a pain but I say to myself and to everyone else "look for the good in your life and enjoy what life you have ..

I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis last year and fibro this year. I tried a disease modifying drug but it made me very sick. So I'm not on anything for the arthritis at the moment. I'm on Amitriptyline, gabapentin & vitamin D for the fibro and thyroxine for an underactive thyroid.
I am a fibro fighter not a fibro sufferer. I will keep fighting from the minute I get up til the minute I go to bed.
