Good morning .. I see your awake too !
I became ill after my partner of 7 years suddenly passed away
I was getting ready for work , is just got out of the shower when
I heard this strange noise , and there he was lying on the bed
Barely alive ! I tried to do CPR until the ambulance arrived but
He died when he got to the hospital .. The trauma of this will
Haunt me until I die .

Hi to all. I was interested in Brian's response. I too am sure that I have Fibromylagia today, 7 1/2 years ater I had my one and only Flu shot. I was at work as a midwife. They at been particularly forceful at encouring the shot. I had never had one before. I gave in to the pressure and within 3 weeks my body crashed. I woke up one morning and It was like a paralysis. My body would not respond to mental commands. I hurt all over even my toes. My symptoms never went away. I never have a good day. It took 6 months to get a diagnosis, anfter going through a leangthy process of testing. The GP had no idea. I had been resarching my symptoms and Fibro kept comming up. GP payed no attention to my suggestion. I got sick of his incompetence and asked to be referred to a physician. Half an our with him and him listening to my experience he gave me the diagnosis. It has been a long a arduous journey. I cannot work anymore. I had to give up my loved career as a midwife in 2011. From 2007 toill them you can imagine how each shift left me feeling. I could ardly crawl back to my car at the end of the day. I would get home and collapse on the lounge, and sleep. No appetite, I was so flared up. Anyway, I would like to hear more of Brian's experience if he has th time. I spent alot of time trying to connect my Fibro, with the Flu vaccine. There just isn't enough evidence. I know and knew my body well. There was nothing else in life that could have triggered it.

Hi :) I am not really sure when mine started, one day my knee started hurting and I was in pain for weeks and the GP kept telling me nothing was wrong with it, it eventually went away and it was about a year later when I split up with my partner that my legs and feet got really bad and I knew something wasn't right. It took me almost 2 years to get a diagnosis, in fact I was talking with someone on Facebook who said they had Fibro and I had to ask what it was, when they told me it was like OMG this is what's wrong with me. GP wasn't agreeing but after a long fight with them I got diagnosed by a Rhumatologist (I can't spell that word lol). Anyway, when I look back now I can see I had low level symptoms for years before my knees got bad but I just didn't realise it wasn't normal or put it down to aging and being unfit, so I cannot actually say when I got it and what brought it on, only that it flares up under extreme stress. However I don't like to refer to myself as 'ill' as I've spent the last two years taking control of my life back from Fibro :)

Edit: I just wanted to also mention that my Dad died when I was a child and my Mum drank a lot and my brother and I both had quite a traumatic childhood. Now I have Fibro and he had Crohne's disease, two conditions that some specialists say are brought on by stress, we have often wondered if the root of both our conditions lies in that childhood, we were adopted so not genetically related. Not looking for a sympathy vote I just think it's interesting, have spent years thinking about the what ifs lol :)

I think a lot of Auto immune problems (I have a few) spring up after trauma. I don't show my feelings, and I think it's the bodies way of coping with stress. I started aged 10. With Kidney problem. Then in mid teens Thyroid problems ending in Thyroidectomy at 19. Then 20 started excruciating back spasms, which happened regularly for years. Then started all the Arthritis / Rhumatism / Lupus problems. I'm 70 now and not found the answer yet!

my Fibro didn't start after anything significant.

it just started with random pains all over my body (one minute my arm would hurt, the next my leg..) and the GP sent me to a rheumatologist who diagnosed Fibro.

although, I bnelieve mine might be related to my hypermobility though so that might be the cause of the fibromyalgia - the way I see it is the muscles are tired from trying to hold my floppy joints together

hi,
am so glad i'm not the only one that became ill after having a baby. my son turned 11 in dec, it took me nearly 2yrs to get pregnant so was overjoyed at the news. i suffered with morning sickness for 20wks. my work mate how i felt being pregnant, so i told him- its like have a really bad hangover(nausea, vomiting, headache, get up and go got up and left, sooooooooooo tired) all the time.(this is wot it was like for me) then 20wks came and although the vomiting stopped nausea continued i began to think ah so this is wot they talk about when talking about pregnancy glow so ok i can do this. at 22wks i hurt my sicryiliac (err) joint just by sitting on edge of sofa and leaning slightly to right and moved a bag of baby blankets. the pain was gradual and by next day was in tears.

by 32wks had spd so bad needed crutches and was sleeping(well laying) on sofa. was induced at 38wks as couldn't cope with pain any longer, however zak had other plans and refused to move, even after 3 attempts and boy does that gel they use smart a tad. after 3days they finally agreed to c-sec and my beautiful if very heavy (10lbs) son was born 2wks b4 xmas, i always say he was my 10lb turkey for xmas.

the pain never really left me and got worse after gall stones then bladder removed. although i have gone on alot, i'm so glad to have my son if alittle sad i couldn't have anymore(only cos my back couldn't cope and neither cud i cope with pain)
