face/jaw pain

Postby natmac73 » Sat Mar 21, 2015 3:30 pm

I've been trying to find on the Forum if anyone has had this experience and can't. ...The past few days I've been getting an aching jaw,and at night in bed, facial pain down one side....is this a a usual fibro symptom?

Temporomandibular Joint Disorder/dysfunction. It's the joint at the back of the jaw.

I've been getting this but I put it down to being more aware of my teeth because I was told I would need fillings, and that meant I was holding my mouth differently. It's taken 4 months since I was told that to them being fitted, and I have definitely had face ache since then.

I have the fillings now so hopefully I can stop 'clenching' my teeth/jaw/whole face and that might help with my shoulder/neck pain too.

I found a mouth splint very helpful for this.

Hi. .had shocking mouth/face pain around 3 weeks ago..
Thought was abscess in tooth...no painkillers or anti inflammatories touched it..seen dentist 4 times..can find no abscess. Pain severe and lasts hours without respite. Worse than any other pains I get. Wasn't aware fibro could cause jaw problems.. Thought could cope fairly well with pain but this different story. Still rearing its ugly head on occasions. Aaaghhh! Lol
