Dry cracked hands - help, relief needed.

Postby Dog Lady » Tue May 26, 2015 8:36 am

Hi

My hands have been extremely bad of late and are now driving me up the wall, itching and stiff to the point where they are now very dry, very cracked and very sore.

Does anybody have a remedy that can help as I'm running out of ideas?

Thanks

I find that Farmers Hand cream by Burt Bees or Farmers hand cream by the Welsh Lavender Company (smells nicer) good. I had a crack on my finger that would not heal and I rubbed the latter into it twice and it healed very quickly. I find a small tin lasts a long time as you dont need much.

Hope you find a solution soon.

This happens to me too & my hands can be very sensitive to some creams (some even make my hands feel like they're burning!), so I googled how to make my own natural cream & so now make a great one with pure shea butter, cedarwood oil, geranium oil, & lavender oil. It helps so much, & smells lovely too! :)

FionaG that sounds lovely, don't suppose you can post a link to the recipe?

I have to be careful as I'm sensitive to lotions too.

my daughter suffered awful skin problems all her life, and like some of you most creams prescribed by the docs made it all worse, the one thing she found that worked was aveno she was prescribed the bath solution as a teen and then in her last months she was prescribed the cream for patches caused by her high doses of steroids and the chemo reactions, it was a god send for her last few months,
