bruises

Postby shazzab64 » Sat Jan 23, 2016 10:10 pm

Hi, is bruising a symptom of FM?
This afternoon I found 2 huge bruises on my upper leg & have absolutely no idea how I got them!!
I haven't been formally diagnosed yet, my Rheumy appointment is on Tuesday.
If this is another symptom, then I can add it to my list!!
Thank you x

I can't say whether they're a Fibro symptom but, like you, I get bruises without knowing where they came from. I know if I hit myself on something but the bruises seem to develop in strange places like the backs of my thighs or on my shoulders.

Hi ,
Yeah unfortunately 'skin sensitivity' is a symptom that can present as bruising . I'm always covered in dark purple bruises that look like I really hurt myself , yet I have no idea how I got them. Big hugs x

Hi Yes, it is known that sufferers bruise more easily. I too always have a collection that I never know how they happened.

Yes I think bruises on the legs are part of fibro. I have always bruised easily as did my mum. In 2010 I had a Doppler test on my legs which I failed. GP diagnosed vascular disease in veins and capillaries. I have inherited this from my mum. In 2013 DR a Frank L Rice of Albany University New York published the results of a 3 year study into fibro. Go on to the web and have a look it makes interesting reading. He ticks all my boxes.

Hi,

Yep, I bruise quite easily too.

This can be rather awkward and embarrassing

I don't really know how I get them :?: but maybe it's because I am just so clumsy with overwhelming fatigue

My daughters will joke and say "who's beaten you up today mum?"
