Fibro Poem

Postby Kriistiee » Mon Aug 08, 2016 12:27 pm

I wrote a poem the other day, I was sat down for a while feeling great and when I stood up I suddenly felt a stiffness in my knees that I hadn't felt all week.

I feel free as a bird with broken wings,
I want to dream that I can do these things,
For one week now I've felt just right,
I've walked and ran and taken flight,
Only now whilst sitting here,
I feel an all too familiar feel,
Whilst sitting by the window still,
My body started to become ill,
I tried to stand but Lo and behold,
My legs didn't know the way to go,
My knees thought best to stay sat down,
My smile thought best to be a frown,
So as I try and walk away,
My knees say "no, another day",
They've stiffened up, my tin man's curse,
There's nothing else that could be worse,
For no diagnoses has been given,
Why my legs just decide to stiffen,
I'll try and stand to walk some more,
If only I could get to the door,
And walk or run or even fly,
I'll be this way until I die,
But let's just smile and forget it all,
My problems to you are only small,
I'll be caterpillar instead and a butterfly when I dream in bed.

I enjoy writing poems even though they're just silly :)

Regards, Kristie
