Acupuncture?

Postby katybaby411 » Thu Dec 29, 2016 2:46 pm

Hi everyone,

Has anyone tried acupuncture and had any reasonable results?
I'm wondering if it's worth a try.

Thanks

Hi Katy

I've tried acupuncture for fibro, amongst just about everything else. I didn't notice any difference.

There's some evidence it can help with more general lower back pain, tension headaches and migraines according to NICE, but the evidence is patchy on everything else.

I have tried it on two occasions.

First was at the traditional Chinese medicine man. The needles were left in for about an hour and it initially offered some relief and then it levelled out. After several sessions I was finding the needle position too painful and as he wanted me back weekly it was expensive.

The second time was NHS treatment with no benefit at all. It is worth a shot though. :teddy-bear:
