In a bad bout of insomnia, I coined a poem..

In Our Darkest Moments

What is this life, so full of pain?
Trying to work, rest and play.
So hard to move, so hard to breathe.
I long to sleep in peace,
Away from this pain.

What is this life, so full of pain?
Just getting through each day by day.
So many experiences I've yet to gain.
So many chances taken away.
I long to have sweet dreams,
Now that would be nice.

What is this life, so full of pain?
No one can see it's hold over me.
So many tears, so many tablets.
I cannot tell the difference between pain and sadness.

Away from this life,
I long to sleep in peace.

Let me know what you think.

Kazak, I like your phrase in the dead of the night -it goes well with feelings I was trying to convey... (I shall borrow it!)

One - I wish to feel no more pain, so much so I wish to rest in peace
Two - I'm sad I'm in so much pain because there's so much life I wish to live.

I literally meant every word at that time. It's often hardest in the night. I feel pain through every part of me when I'm lying down. When I am resting my joints and muscles set and ache, when I try to turn over, I use my fingertips and feet to edge myself over gradually to the other side whilst avoiding pressure on sore limbs!

I struggle to breathe when I move as well. They say it is intercostal muscular chest pain that does not affect the heart. It hurts because I'm leaning on them and breathing uses them. Doctors do not know what to do but tell me to take more pain medication. My fiance always sleeps so well next me. There is no one to talk but listen to all these thoughts and feelings taken over by pain and tiredness.

Does anyone have similar chest pain? I've had it on and off over 18 months but in the latter half it has been every day :(. I feel I cannot breathe, that I'm an old woman. I am only 26.

I hope we all sleep better tonight. Only one more day until the weekend!
