Nearly at a FM diagnosis

Postby Pinkprincess205 » Fri Apr 20, 2012 5:12 pm

So my rheumatologist has suggested FM to me n given a booklet, he has sent me back to my original rheumatologist guy, as he was only testin my nerves to see if thats why my back n legs were hurtin. So went n saw my doc today n discussed it. She thinks it sounds like i have fibro n it looks like it started from my carcrash in 2009. But she said i need to be diagnosed by my normal Rheumatologist, which my apt isnt until June, so jus have to wait. Came off all pain killers as tryin for a baby. So its just paracetamols for me.
She did suggested some cognitive therapy, not sure wat that is. Will have a little look online.
So jus got to wait now for my apt.

Glad you're getting closer to a dx :bear-dancing: :bear-dancing: :bear-dancing: Could you contact your rheumy to see if you can be seen earlier than your current appt???

The therapy your GP suggested may well be Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) which is a talking therapy. This linky explains about it in a far better way than I can http://www.mind.org.uk/help/medical_and ... ur_therapy
Not everyone finds it helpful, but for those who find it suits them, it can make a difference to them.

Hope it's not too long before you find you're going to be blessed with the pitter patter of tiny feet :bear-dancing: :bear-dancing: :bear-dancing:
