Good luck for your appointment.

Make sure you take a symptom check with you and any questions you need answering.

Hi All
Many thanks for your support and kind words.
Back from the consultants and feel like i've been put on the rack, have been poked, prodded, x rayed and drained of blood....but i have my FMS diagnosis..the doctor feels that i also have OA in my hip, hence the x rays etc....
I am hoping that i can now move forward and find strategies to help me cope with this :-D

Glad you have a dx Pugbear :cup1: :cup1: :cup1: Now you know what you're dealing with, you could ask your GP about treatments/therapies/services that may be of help to you. It varies from person to person as to what may help, for some physio can help, others have found hydrotherapy useful.

We all have our little ways of dealing with things as well, so if you ask about particular things, you'll hopefully get a range o replies/suggestions that you may also find helpful.

Pleased to hear that you got some sense out of your rheumatologist.
Was there any mention of a referral to a pain clinic?

At least you know what you are dealing with now.
I had my FM diagnosis recently and was also given an X ray (shoulders) for suspected arthritis. The X ray just showed some calcium build up around the tendons, but no arthritis. Maybe it will be the same for you with your hip, after all, FM is more than enough to deal with isn't it?!

Many thanks for all of your replies,
sorry my post was short and sweet last night, having been pulled about a bit and then being made to lay on my bad side for x-rays i was wanting my bed last night...
I am so glad to finally get a diagnosis, i feel like i can start making baby steps forward now with Occ Health at work etc :-D
This forum has been a complete god send both for me and my partner, we have both gained so much from reading peoples stories (some have been frightening and others inspiring)
Thanks again to you all, it helps so much just to know there is someone else to talk to.

Hi pugbear!!

I'm sooo glad you got your diagnosis of FM - you must be sooo relieved!! :-D

I'm sorry I'm just coming to this thread "after the fact" BUT I totally hear you - I have suffered from CFS for 17 years but literally just got back from a doctors appointment where she agreed to refer me to a rheumatologist to be checked out for FM. I was apprehensive before seeing my own doctor - I think I will be a bundle of nerves too before my rheumatologist appointment!! :-?

I did have an intial appointment with a chiro (no treatment) a couple of weeks back and for the rest of the day I was in sooo much pain and discomfort after being poked, prodded, etc - can't imagine what I'll be like after my rheumatologist appointment!! :-?
Obsessively opposed to the typical!!
