How do i get a copy of all my hospital records?

Postby millymoodoo » Tue Oct 23, 2012 11:35 am

Hi all

I wonder if anyone can help me!!! I am wanting copies of all my hospital notes, i know i will have to pay a fee for this but i really haven't got a clue how to go about this. I am trying to get organised ready for when this PIP comes into force, because i have that many problems i thought if i had copies of my notes than when the time comes i can send in my own evidance rather than having to wait for them to write to each consultant that i am having treatment with. I feel that if i have everything that i need it may speed up the process and hopefully help me get what i am entitled to without all the stress. I appreciate that we will all have to have a medical but anything to help my claim is a bonus.

I would be extremly grateful for any help!!!

Milly xxx :-D

Just ask your GP, they will have copies, you usually need to fill out short form sign and pay, it takes them a few days to compile, but mine did it for me xxx

Thankfully, I never had to pay for mine, I just went into the surgery and asked. In a few days I got a call saying thet were ready to collect.

One was quite funny, I saw an indian fellow who dxed my OA and I said my dad had the same. He kept saying "No, it will not kill you, you will not die" I wondered why he was like this and it wasn't until I left I realised, the word 'dad' didn't register with him. He thought I was saying 'Dead' Should have said 'father'. He wrote in his report that he had to reasure me a lot as I was scared I was dying. At least I got the chance to put my GP right.

I was surprised how a lot of these specialists and even the GP perseve me and what I say. Wouldn't have as much trouble if I was a man, I'm sure.
