Was diagnosed by one of the g.p's at my surgery with fibro .
Then told by different g.p same surgery that I have c.f.s he did not think fibro.

Since going back to doc's he has now referred me to sheffield hallimshire hospital
To see a professor Green .

Has any one been to see him ?
Just hope I can get to the bottom of every thing .

Hi Tiamarie,

I'm in Sheffield too, but don't know anything about Prof. Green - what is his specialism (I assume your GP has told you?)?

I've been diagnosed with Fibro & M.E./C.F.S. I was referred straight to the M.E./C.F.S. clinic by my GP (who is lovely & really supportive), rather than being referred to a rheumatologist at the hospital. My GP was confident about his diagnosis and said that if he'd referred me to rheumatology, I would have ended up having more tests, but would probably end up being referred to the M.E./C.F.S. clinic anyway.

Let us know how you get on at your appointment! :)

Hi Tiamarie,

I've not been on the forum for a while, so sorry for the late reply! I've PM'd you as well. :)
It sounds like you've been referred to the same CFS/ME clinic that I attend in the Hillsborough area. Does 'Fairlawns' ring a bell for you?

You should have an initial appointment (either by phone or in person, depending on your health), then they'll send you some general info about the service & what CFS/ME is etc (which might be handy when you're applying for ESA/DLA).
You might get a written diagnosis from the specialist doctor there (I didn't even meet him, he just reviewed my notes).
Then they'll invite you to attend an Introduction to Pacing 2-part 'workshop', which you might find helpful, but maybe not!
Then you see a Occupational Therapist one-to-one & they decide which services you would benefit from, so it could be a support group or a physiotherapist etc etc. I am at this stage & waiting to see the physio.

Hope that helps a little bit & give me a shout if you want to :)
